A cast of a small drill from the Fisher/Fowler Mound in Arkansas. The original was made in Chalcedony and measures 1.04 inches long. The original was acquired by Occpaleo after a nationwide search to find classic examples of various drill types to mold and cast for study collections. A drill of this size and type would most likely be hafted to a small spindle, and spun between the hands or with a flywheel weight to creat fine small holes in materials such as wood, bone, and shell. Ex Bell, Engelder, and Occpaleo collections. (Cast copyright Occpaleo 2015)
