A modern sport set, that has been used for a public demonstration on atlatl technology. This set was designed to be the most user friendly for the public, and those unfamiliar with the atlatl. This set was used once for a few hours of demonstration, and suffered no damage in soft modern archery hay bale target, and is ready to go for beginners to test out this technology. Our thrower here is a shaft of our native River Cane, set into a molded grip with 3 different ways to hold easily(shown in pics above), that hold the dart in place and have a grip stop that securely holds any hand size in place. The dart is a convenient take down of River Cane main shaft, and Poplar wood foreshaft/front section, held together by brass sleeve. This allows it to be fit into an archery quiver and more easily into vehicles for travel, compared to one solid full length dart. This model measures 6 and a half feet when put together(57 inches taken apart), and is fit with 175 grain field point. It is helpful to know which side of the take down sleeve is permanently glued, so a black glue line is shown in the pictures above for identification, and when put together it is suitable for archery style targets, at short distances up to 20 meters, and NOT designed for hunting with current field point. This should be considered a dangerous weapon and user is responsible for safe use. Used safely, this set is a great start for those wanting to try atlatl technology for the first time.
