This MODERN celt axe is unused and newly finished here in 2023.  It is offered here on the Clearance Collection as it revealed a vein in the natural rock, that enters the working functional bit area at front of celt.  Natural veins are not cracks, and usually not a problem for functional use, unless they go into the working bit edge.  This natural vein did now show up until the final stages, and it was decided to finish the celt, and offer as a teaching example of proper dimensions of celt convexity.  It should be avoided for hafted use due to that vein, and is now offered half price.  This celt measures 4 and a half inches long, 2 inches wide, and 3/4th of an inch thick.  The process was started with pecking with quartz rock, and grinding on sandstone/sand slab until proper convex edge demonstrated at bit.   The vein in question can be seen in the pics and video above.
