A seasoned billet of American Flowering Dogwood, renowned for being one of the best possible woods for flintknapping billets/hammers, and mallets for shock absorbtion in percussion and indirect work. Such a billet would also be a good blank for a handle of archaeological style stone celt axe. This piece is around 18 inches long, about 3 inches wide, and seasoned for over a year with no cracks or flaws. It is long enough to be cut into two small knapping billets, or for one celt axe handle.
