A LITHIC CAST of a Haskett projectile point found in the Utah Test and Training Range in the Great Basin. This projectile point was found during the research of the Far Western Anthropological Research Group and the Dugway Army properties.

Hasketts were typed after localities in Idaho, but are also found in the Great Basin and Oregon. The related groups comprising Western Stemmed Tradition sites in Utah's Great Basin tend to date out around 11,500 to 9,500 BP, around the transition of the Pleistocene/Holocene Paleo-Archaic time period.  Recent research by Far Western Anthro Group is showing evidence that the Western Stemmed Tradition in the Great Basin could be as old as 14,000BP, based on newly found charcoal and blood residue analysis. (cast copyright Occpaleo 2026)
