This authentic archaeological artifact(UMNH.A.2025.22/42T07855-FS-30) was sent to Occpaleo in 2026 for molding and casting, as part of a project for the Far Western Anthropological Research Group and the Dugway Proving Ground/Utah Test and Training Range military base in Utah. The site is within Tooele County, and measures 5 and 1/4 inches (133mm), and 30mm wide and was made in a high quality fine grain volcanic.
Hasketts were typed after localities in Idaho, but are also found in the Great Basin and Oregon. The related groups Western Stemmed Tradition sites in Utah's Great Basin tend to date out around 11,500 to 9,500 BP, around the transition of the Pleistocene/Holocene Paleo-Archaic time period.
