A stave of Osage Orange wood, suitable for traditional bowmaking. This is a smaller stave that would be a great fit for western United States cultural styles, such as Plains models. It measures 49 inches long, and is 1 and 1/2 inches at least for width, and within the range for most bows of the southwest styles of North America. The stave has been seasoned for over a year indoors, and is sealed on the ends with wood glue. It has a backset of several inches, which is ideal, and has has the sapwood removed, but not worked to one growth ring. It is within 2 or 3 growth rings along the back, so would only need cabinet scraper work to get to one growth ring from this "preform" state of stave.
