This model was added in response to atlatl throwers inquiring about the functionality of European archaeological models.    We use an epoxy "faux ivory" that could be used to test this ancient spear thrower fragment from the site of La Madeline, France, dating around 12 to 17,000 years ago.  see full description on our ATLATL collection here.   The replica is hafted to a hardwood sapling around 20 inches long, and makes a fuctional atlatl that can be used to throw matching darts, as well as display replica of an archaeological example.   Feathered dart shown in picture above is not included with the atlatl, and was used here to show how the system fits together.
