This raw sample of soapstone or pipestone was found Virginia, and should be suitable for small projects such as Native American style pipes, or small bowls, art carving, or atlatl weights.  Sanding of edge and oil revealed a dark blue color when finished, if an oiling is used or when highly polished.  See pics for measurements to fit project.
